Philippine Red Cross is Recruiting Volunteer Nurses

Posted: 17 Aug 2010 12:46 AM PDT

Attention nurses and nursing graduates: Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Chairman Richard J. Gordon WANTS YOU! He recently said:

"I have great respect for the nursing profession. Their practice by itself stands by the Red Cross' primary objective of alleviating human suffering."

Since the PRC and the nursing profession have similar main objectives, Gordon sees a tie-up between these two fields in servicing humanitarian causes.

In line with this, PRC is currently searching for volunteer nurses who could work with their professionally-trained staff. This recruitment campaign is part of Gordon’s plan in strengthening what he considers the organization’s life and blood: the pool of volunteers.

This campaign will help in meeting PRC’s aim to increase its volunteers who will then be equipped with proper training to gain competence so that on cases of emergencies and disasters, the response to those who are in need is more effective.

It is also Gordon’s intention to give Filipino nurses an opportunity for personal development through this volunteer program.

For more information about this program, interested nurses and nursing graduates can drop by PRC National Headquarters' Volunteer Service Office, Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila or call at (02) 527-0862. Look for Mr. Roy Bautista.
