Very Low Prospects for Filipino Nurses in Europe – POEA : NursingCrib.com Updates |
Very Low Prospects for Filipino Nurses in Europe – POEA Posted: 30 Jul 2010 07:23 PM PDT The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration today clarified that chances for Filipino nurses working in Switzerland, Denmark and other countries in Europe remains to be minimal. POEA Administrator Jennifer Jardi-Manalili issued the clarification that only a few nursing jobs overseas are available in the said countries in the light of some announcements that jobs for health professionals abound in Europe. Most countries in the European Union she said, prioritize its citizens over foreigners looking for work in their respective countries. Switzerland, for one, has temporarily blocked workers from non-EU countries. Denmark, on the other hand, implements a "green card system" that allows foreign workers with specialized skills but POEA has yet to receive job orders for Filipino nurses from that country.
