P2,000 Borderless Healthcare Workshop Lands Nurses Internships

11 November 2009 – Manila. Ten percent of Filipino nurses who participated in the first Borderless Healthcare Introductory Workshop held in the Philippines have secured internships with the Fly Free For Health Group of Companies from Singapore in the trillion-dollar healthcare industry.

The workshop which was held on October 10-11, 2009 at SM City Manila, aimed to equip its participants with the right growth strategies to strengthen their global employability as well as to learn about the trends of all progressive hospitals and service providers in the borderless healthcare industry. Fresh graduates, registered nurses, as well as administrators of schools, hospitals and other health and lifestyle companies took part in the event. The Fly Free For Health Group of Companies also sponsored some victims of the flood at the workshop.

The workshop has allowed participants to consider global career paths as Medical Butlers for the surplus Filipino Nurses. Being a Medical Butler will enable many of us to become more competitive and knowledgeable not only in the clinical areas, but also in tourism, informatics, marketing, business and management!" says 22 year old Marvin James Goze, one of those who received the coveted internship.

Others have picked up new skills on how they can do their jobs better. "The things I have learnt in Communications, Marketing, Lifestyle, and CRM can now be put into good use! I can now not only take care of my patients more effectively, but also build life-long relationships with them and the doctors as well," says Angela Nicdao, a Peritoneal Dialysis nurse.
